Enriching Lives for Underprivileged Families in Thailand

According to the Ministry of Labor, approximately 700,000 migrant workers are employed in Thailand's construction industry. Many of these workers and their families live in temporary housing, often referred to as construction site camps, where access to essential public services like child protection, education, and healthcare is severely limited.

To address these challenges, DKSH has partnered with the Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) to support vulnerable children and families living in urban slums and construction site camps across Thailand. Leveraging its longstanding relationships with construction companies and the public sector, BDF strives to improve the well-being of tens of thousands of marginalized children and their parents by providing better access to essential services.

This collaboration underscores our commitment to enriching lives and fostering sustainable community development in Thailand. As part of the partnership, DKSH contributed over THB 8.1 million in financial support, along with in-kind contributions, to sustain BDF’s programs and services for one year. These efforts aim to enhance the quality of life for vulnerable communities across the market.

Looking ahead, DKSH and BDF plan to expand their initiatives by introducing additional programs, including simple and accessible healthcare education. These new efforts will further support local communities, helping to improve the overall well-being of families in need.

At DKSH, our purpose is to enrich people’s lives. We do so by providing reliable access to high-quality and responsible products and services, creating sustainable value for our partners, and contributing to raising the quality of life in the communities we operate in by generating jobs, perspectives, and opportunities for people’s development and growth.
